PsdUtilities.WindowsHooks

NuGet Version

What hooks are supported?

  • Low-level keyboard hook
  • Low-level mouse hook

How to use it?

IDisposable myHook = new LowLevelKeyboardHook();
myHook.SetHook();

// Either register the hooking event
myHook.Hooked += context => ...;

// Or use the IAsyncEnumerable<> event stream
await foreach (var event in myHook.GetEventStreamAsync())
{
    Console.WriteLine(event.ToString());
}

How does it work?

  1. When you invoke SetHook(), a separate thread is created that registers a Windows hook.
  2. Callback procedure is stored and provided to that hook.
  3. Once the hook triggers, an event fires simultaneously (Hooked event).
  4. Async event streams are managed through async Channels.
