About

Patchouli is a library and a command line utility to perform delta updates. It works by comparing two directories, checking which files were added, deleted or changed. All these changes are then packaged into an archive. VCDIFF is used to create patches for files that changed.

This archive can be applied to the previous version to update it.

What is a delta update

A delta update means the user only needs to download what changed from the previous version.

Creating an archive:

Applying an archive:

var archiveReader = new ArchiveReader(archivePath);
var archive = await archiveReader.ReadArchive();
var archiveApplier = new ArchiveApplier(archive, versionToPatchPath);
await archiveApplier.Apply();
